this past weekend we had an unexpected get-a-way which we totally were needing. we called Beth-l office on Friday morning inquiring if there were any cancellations for one of the cabins located at the Farm. we had a response by the afternoon saying that the Timber Creek Cabin was open for the weekend and we were welcome to stay there. it was so wonderful to get out of the city and enjoy nature. you cannot believe how much you miss the trees and animals and sounds of the country until you go without for so long. the cabin we stayed in was comfortably rustic. it had cedar paneling with a wood stove in the kitchen. the kitchen opened up into the living room and there was a loft overhead. it was quaint and soooo COZY...just what i like.

the drive up was enjoyable as well. the minute you enter Beth-l property you instantly feel like you're in paradise. we passed the Farm, the orchards, the vinyards and the cow pasture. (i waved to all my white and black speckled friends and shouted a friendly 'Mooo' only to be saddened by the fact that I would soon be eating them - enough to make you go vegetarian).

we arrived back in Brooklyn sunday evening...back to work right away. (i had a dish duty and Shaphan had a watchmen duty).
well, i'm working night shift this week. the brother who works with me on nights has been bringing Star Trek movies to watch. i told him the only one i won't watch is where Data dies. that one tore me up for days after i saw it. otherwise it's been nice travelling down memory lane and watching old episodes of the Next Generation. speaking of...i have a really funny story about Star Trek....perhaps tomorrow night I'll post it. the brother is anxiously awaiting my arrival in Rm 303 so he can start Star Trek: Insurrection.
