sum sum summertime

we had a department picnic this past Saturday. funny how much more bonded you feel to people when you play football together. somehow all that running into each other and getting peoples sweat on you adds a whole new element to the friendship. i mean, these were my workmates. people i normally see either in scrubs or suits. and we're either elbow deep in body fluid or reading the bible together.

point being...it was nice to just relax together, eat and play out in the grass. we got out of the concrete jungle for a day and went up to Patterson where we grilled and got the rare opportunity to take off our shoes and walk barefoot in the grass...unafraid of dog-poop.

i an into an old friend of mine whose duty at Patterson is to welcome the eld-rs coming in for the Eld-rs School. he escorts them around the grounds, gives them a little tour and shows them to their rooms. what an assignment! must be nice.
